Luna park

This project was inspired in the summer of 2009 by a tour of a large part of the amusement park  of Italy. I wanted to immortalize these transient places at night when darkness isolates the light which enfolds the rides and the people inside them.
Each photograph is a tribute to the moment of “flight”. Here everything seems suspended in infinite space which provides a refuge and a temporary relief from the pull of the earth’s gravity, that overwhelming force that weights us to the earth and restrains us from dreaming. I decided to present this photographic series through the medium of a lightbox in which the photos are only partially illuminated to record the rapport of the human spirit with the cosmos and to recall the infinity of the universe we inhabit.
